The Bethlehem Drama Department will present Disney's Alice in Wonderland on Friday, May 13; Saturday, May 14; Monday, May 16; and Tuesday, May 17. Performances will begin at 7:00 p.m. each night. Tickets are $5 each and are available at the door. For the Friday night performance ONLY, show your FFA/FBLA steak dinner ticket and receive $1 off admission.

Overview

IDEA, Part B – Entitlement – These funds are allocated for the support of special projects which will contribute to the solution of persisting state-wide needs in the education of exceptional students.

IDEA, Part B – Preschool Entitlement - These funds are allocated to provide special education and related services to handicapped children aged three through five.

Title I – Part A (Title I Basic) program provides services to help schools with high concentrations of students from low-income families be able to offer high-quality education that will enable all children to meet, at a minimum, proficiency levels on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

Title I – Part C - These funds are allocated to provide services to migratory students who are failing or at risk of failing to meet the State’s challenging content and academic achievement standards and whose education has been interrupted during the regular school year.

Title II, Part A – Teacher and Principal Training/Recruiting –This program’s purpose is to improve teacher and principal quality and increase the number of highly qualified teachers and principals.

Title III Part A – This program is for limited English proficient students and is tailored to individual student needs. The program uses either English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or home language instructional strategies.

Title IV Part B-21st Century Community Learning Centers-This program provides after-school and summer enrichment programs for students.

Title VI, Part B, Subpart 2 – Rural Education Achievement Program – These funds are allocated to provide additional support to rural or low income districts.

 

 

 

Holmes County High School will be presenting Disney's "The Little Mermaid" on Monday, May 9; Tuesday, May 10; and Thursday, May 12. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the play begins at 7:00 each night. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
The Holmes District School Board will be adopting and revising Exceptional Student Education Policies and Procedures.  A hearing for the public will be held at 5:00 p.m. on May 10, 2016 for input on proposed changes at the Holmes District School Board office.  A copy of the policies to be adopted or revised may be reviewed at the Holmes District School Board office Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. except for advertised holidays.

Holmes County High School is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of JROTC by hosting a 5k Fun Run at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23 at the HCHS track. We don’t plan to include any trophies or race categories – this is purely a “Fun” Run. See attached race flier.

The worldwide JROTC/ROTC Fun Run is a one-of-a-kind event that allows participants around the world to run simultaneously, with each time zone’s start time synchronized to 3:00 PM Greenwich Mean Time, in an attempt to set a world record.

Please make plans to attend the WINGS Family Night on Thursday, April 21 from 5:15-6:30 p.m. The event will be held at Bonifay Middle School in the gym. The theme of the event is "Community Career Connections". Join us as we showcase a variety of careers to our future leaders and their families.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten open enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year  in Homes County will  be  held  at Bethlehem High School, Bonifay Elementary School, Ponce de Leon Elementary School and Poplar Springs High School during the week of April  25-29, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each  day.

Florida law states that any child that is five years of age on or before September 1,2016 is eligible to register for kindergarten .

It is very important in planning for the 2016-2017 school year to have all eligible kindergar­teners register during this open enrollment period.

Please bring the following information with you when you come to register your child:

Verification of Legal Name - Birth Certificate

Verification of Age - Birth Certificate

Verification of Immunization and Physical Exam - These must be completed on Florida forms by a physician or a Florida county health department. Proof of physical examination must be within the last year.  If documentation cannot be provided, a physical examination must be obtained within 30 days.

Verification of Address - Parent or guardian's Florida driver's license or state ID showing the current correct address.  Another item in the parent or guardian's name showing the current address such as: auto registration, current bill or current pay stub.
