It is with great excitement that we welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. Holmes District Schools have been entrusted with our community’s most precious resource—our children. With that comes great responsibility. Throughout the school years, our children are being prepared and molded into the individuals who will one day become our community’s leaders. Our district’s vision statement is “Educating today’s students for tomorrow’s world.” It is our responsibility to ensure that our children receive the best preparation possible for the roles they will undertake in the future.
The Holmes County School District’s commitment to continuous improvement and the highest of standards is essential for all students to become confident, self-directed lifelong learners. Two measures of our success are school grades and high school graduation rate. Our goals are to become an “A” district and to achieve a 100% graduation rate. As part of our strategy to accomplish those goals, we continually evaluate data and information in order to make decisions that will have the greatest and most positive impact on our schools.
Holmes County Schools welcome and encourage parent and community involvement. As an entire team, we can work together to create a solid foundation for learning to help ensure the future success of our young citizens. All of us—students, families, teachers, support staff, administrators, and the community—share responsibility for the improvement of the educational process. When our children succeed, our families and communities succeed as well.
